 Assistant governor

 
 

A ssistant governors are appointed annually by the district governor to assist in the administration of assigned clubs. These key district leaders help incoming club presidents plan for their year in office and for the governor’s official visit. They also advise their assigned clubs on strategies for achieving goals and visit them at least four times a year.

Assistant governor qualifications

Qualifications for assistant governors include:

  • Active membership and good standing in a club within the district for at least three years
  • Service as a club president for a full term
  • Outstanding performance at the district level
  • Potential for future leadership in the district

Assistant governor responsibilities

Assistant governors’ main responsibilities include:

  • Helping incoming club presidents before the start of the Rotary year to assess their clubs and develop goals
  • Visiting each club regularly and offering guidance and assistance as needed
  • Assisting club leaders in scheduling and planning for the governor’s official visit

Assistant governor training

Assistant governors complete training before their year of service. They also participate in the training of club leaders at presidents-elect training seminars and district assemblies.
